Transportation Services
Transportation is the service that quietly determines whether everything else works. We provide door-to-door transport for medical appointments, day programs, work, errands and community life.
What this service includes

Medical and therapy appointments
Transport to primary care, specialists, dental, behavioral health, dialysis and therapy — with staff support through the appointment where that is part of the person's plan.

Day programs and employment
Reliable weekday transport to and from day programs, job sites and training, timed to the actual schedule rather than a fixed route.

Errands and independent living
Grocery shopping, the pharmacy, the bank, the barber and the other trips that make a household run.

Community and recreation
Faith services, family visits, Special Olympics, the rec center, movies, birthdays — the parts of a life that do not appear on a care plan but are the reason for one.

Trained, vetted drivers
Drivers are background-checked, hold current CPR and First Aid certification, and are trained in supporting people with developmental disabilities — not contract drivers with no relationship to the person.

Door-to-door, not curb-to-curb
Support from the front door to the destination and back, which for many of the people we serve is the entire difference between a trip happening and not happening.
The support that fails first
When a placement or a support plan breaks down, transportation is very often the first thing that broke. A missed specialist appointment becomes an unmanaged condition. A day program that cannot be reached becomes an empty weekday. A job becomes impossible to keep.
We treat transportation as core infrastructure rather than an add-on, because in practice that is what it is.
Who is driving
The people driving are trained to support the person in the vehicle, not only to operate it. Every driver is background-checked and certified in CPR and First Aid, and where possible the driver is someone the person already knows from their regular support team.
For anyone who finds unfamiliar people or unpredictable routines difficult, that continuity matters more than the vehicle does.
Service area
We provide transportation throughout our service area, centered on Laurel and Prince George’s County. If a specialist appointment takes someone further afield, talk to us — we will tell you honestly whether we can cover it rather than cancel on the day.
